I have entered into the “found footage” fray, offering my own unique spin on the genre. I can’t wait to release more details soon as the plot evolves!
I can promise it will be something completely unique.
I had grown so tired of 3-D propaganda and of filmmakers who have embraced, what I thought, was a recycled fad and just an utter waste of time. But I have since changed my tune! What has the power to change the mind of such a self-described, bull-headed and undeniably difficult person? Believe it or not, probably one of this year’s worse movies of the year; “The Darkest Hour.”
Granted, the film itself is pretty useless and forgettable, but the use of 3-D was truly inspiring to me as a filmmaker. Mainly because of the incredible “depth of field” and the awesome Moscow backdrop. By using 3-D to fully immerse the audience and actually “bring” them to a place not many Americans will ever see in their lifetime was truly amazing! Throughout the movie I felt like I was taking in the sights of Moscow, more so as a misguided tourist then someone in the middle of an Alien apocalypse; and maybe that’s the reason why I loved the movie.
Even though the story-line of people constantly finding safe places to hide and then leaving to just go out into an unsafe place inhabited by invisible aliens who turn you into mere dust and ash is so ridiculous. Still it effectively it lends itself so well in providing an almost two hour virtual tour of Russia.

So forget the fragments of people, cars, buildings and occasional bullets flying out into the crowd in 3-D, that technology IS for the birds. Be ready for innovative “depth of field” film-making where you can truly get lost for an hour or so and really care less about what’s going on around you. And if someone does make a movie where you care what is going on around you, then bravo, bravo!
For all of my fans, if I can even use that term, you will remember one of my projects, “DRUM.” It is back and better than EVER!

Help us raise the money we need to bring this movie all the way!
Thank you,
John
I love to observe the world that is “not around me.” Meaning everyone looks at things “around them,” but how often do you look at things around you in a different light (literally in this picture I took from my Hotel bed)
Is it a portal from another world or just a reflection? Either way the reflect is far more interesting to me. On the ceiling it is many things, like cloud animals; but in reality is just a window with really shitty window treatments.
Think about it!
If you enjoy exploring, and posting, to the wonderful world wide web as I do, then you must stand up and fight for it! Your Congress, the people who supposed work for us mere mortals, want to pass a bill this week that will allow them to censor the Internet.
How you ask? Well, it’s somewhat technical in nature, but essentially its like getting kicked out a club and being blacklisted. That means you, and anywhere you linger on the internet, could be blocked from Search Engines, Facebook, etc.
The last time I checked, the Internet is nothing more than a world full of interconnected computers who use a standard protocol to deliver content around the world! So why should our Congress censor our computers, our content… our voices!?
This is the week, crunch time, so I implore you. Take the time to visit http://americancensorship.org/ and make your voice heard, because who knows, before long that voice may be taken away!
I’ve heard time and time again, “Most artists are tortured souls” or “You must kind of an outcast in order to succeed in the film industry.” While starting my second screenplay I recall saying to myself, “Man, not everyone is like this, I am good at it and I’m normal?”
But after recent events in my personal life I have just realized I am one of those people. My life is so tragically “mismanaged” and I can really only blame myself. Yes, people can cause issues in your life, but you still ultimately have the ability to react favorably.
So I embrace the “weirdness” that is me. It helps me in my literary life, but sucks the life out of my personal life. I will continue to search my soul for the best way to meet Good John and Bad John somewhere in between. Maybe I can establish an alternating Calendar so I can plan accordingly? Who knows, I am just two weeks shy of 35, so I am sure I will have time to sort it out. And if something happens to me and I don’t, then I guess I wasn’t meant to.
Until then friends enjoy my stories and sinister thoughts that I divert into strange and deviant fictional characters.
~ Yours truly awful, John
Yes, indeed this is slightly embarrassing, but I kinda let me site expire. Not because I am irresponsible, I had my debit card hacked twice in a row. By the time I would get a new one and update my Hosting provider, that card would need to be deactivated. The result from a busy schedule and not receiving emails on the proper address that they couldn’t bill me; POOF!
So the moral of the story is back-up your site, pay your hosting on-time and don’t forget how your previous site was designed. I am literally back to the drawing board.
